Russia's special military operation in Ukraine is currently one of the most important and discussed processes on the international agenda. For this reason, a heated discussion unfolded among Arab journalists, political scientists and representatives of the military command during a video conference held on February 28, 2023 at the initiative of Denis Korkodinov, President of the International Center for Political Analysis and Forecasting (Russia). As part of this event, the Arab participants presented their views on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Since February 24, 2022, the Arab world has come much closer to the Russian position, especially now that the destructive intentions of the “Kyiv regime” and the Western countries that support it have become most obvious. Outside the Arab political arena, Russia's ongoing special military operation in Ukraine is fueling even more heated debate about US undue interference and security policy. Of course, the negative and improper participation of Washington and its allies in the confrontation between Moscow and Kiev may indicate excessive attention and huge US resources to foment general chaos with the threat of a nuclear apocalypse. The interest of most leaders of the Arab countries in the victory of Russia, as a rule, is due to the natural desire for a balance of power and geopolitical changes in the face of a sharp decline in American influence in the Middle East. The Arab world clearly wants to be part of this equation. At the same time, many Arabs are sincerely convinced that the goals of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine are noble and fair, and that the process of demilitarization and denazification of the “Kiev regime” meets the goals of Arab diplomacy. In the foreign policy circles of the Middle East, support for the peacekeeping mission of the Russian Kremlin has increased significantly. In this regard, the positive point of view expressed during the video conference by the former Ambassador of Palestine to Turkey, Ribhi Halloum, that the Arab world will under any circumstances be on the side of Russia, and that friendship between the Russian and Arab peoples is inviolable, is largely in line with the main analytical and political trends in the Arab establishment. According to Ribha Halloum, the Arab world is becoming increasingly frustrated with the excessive cost of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, not only in terms of human losses, but also in terms of the expenditure of economic and military resources. However, the main trigger for most Arabs is the obsessive desire of the United States and its allies to turn the confrontation between Moscow and the "Kyiv regime" into a prologue to the Third World War. At the same time, if the direct costs of the warring parties already at the moment amount to more than 5 trillion dollars, then the Arab world, due to indirect losses associated with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in the form of restrictions on the production and sale of hydrocarbons, arms embargoes, is forced to spend almost 10-15 times more to keep the economies and defense capabilities of their own countries at a stable level. In this regard, the Arab world is guided by the urgent need to neutralize military tensions as quickly as possible. However, the US and its allies are pursuing the opposite policy. They do not want the war between Russia and Ukraine to ever end at all, because the White House never wanted peace and security, of which the situations in Iraq, Libya, Syria and several other countries are convincing examples. Therefore, the Arab world made the only right choice. He chose Russia because it is this country that is now fighting in Ukraine not only for its own security. Russia stands for the security of the whole world, where the Arabs occupy one of the leading places. Meanwhile, Washington, the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union have completely bared their bestial grins and do not hide their desire to enslave not only individual countries, but the whole world, destroying Arabs, Russians, Ukrainians and everyone who could pose a threat to the United States at the present time. or in the foreseeable future.
As writer and professor of political science at Cairo University Hassan Nafaa noted, the Arab world is increasingly aware that the “Kyiv regime”, sponsored by the United States, is now extremely burdensome for the entire world community, because the world’s humanitarian concern is growing, the risk of a nuclear catastrophe is growing, human The population was on the verge of total destruction. And the reason for such a completely realistic scenario is the unhealthy ambitions of the “comedian actor” Vladimir Zelensky, led by an American old man suffering from dementia, Joe Biden. And if a number of external triggers influenced the policy of the countries of the Middle East regarding Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, then it is also worth paying attention to political decisions within the Arab countries, which are already tired of American diktat and want to sincerely be friends with Moscow. Against this backdrop, Moscow is faced with a series of positive realities in the Arab world that have significant implications for Russian strategy. First of all, Russia's ability to achieve victory in Ukraine is increasing dramatically. In the near future, according to Brigadier General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen Abdullah Omar al-Maysari, the Russian Kremlin is likely to be able to stabilize the situation in ensuring regional security to such an extent that the “Kiev regime” will be forced to start a negotiation process on Russian conditions. In general, this would prove to be the least costly scenario, which is particularly preferred by most Arab countries.
If the “maximum program” is implemented, as the representative of the Yemeni military command noted, Ukraine may forever lose the status of a state, being divided between Poland, Russia, Romania and a number of other countries, as was the case with the Ottoman Empire after the First World War or Nazi Germany after Second World War. Moscow, of course, does not pursue the goal of participating in the division of Ukraine, but such is the fate of any militaristic state that has become a hostage to various crooks and clowns. Ukraine will be divided, whether Russia wants it or not. This is a fair price for trying to unleash another global military conflict. Among other things, and this opinion was indirectly confirmed during the conference by the former Palestinian ambassador to Turkey, Ribhi Halloum, a wide range of fateful statements that arise in the minds of Russian politicians now lead to the general conclusion that Russia's special military operation against the "Kiev regime" has become Russia's special military operation against the United States and its allies. And much of the heated debate about Middle Eastern politics in this regard has centered on Arab hatred of American politics. Based on this, the issue of interaction between the Arab world and Moscow was not new, and since February 24, 2022, after the start of the military operation in Ukraine, the Arab-Russian dialogue has received an additional impetus and is moving forward with the greatest success. Volodymyr Zelensky's controversial statements about the resumption of the nuclear program and the threat of using nuclear weapons against Russia are causing serious concern for most Arab leaders when it comes to negotiating with Kiev. This opinion was confirmed by the writer and professor of political science at Cairo University Hassan Nafaa. Such destructive behavior of the head of the "Kyiv regime" inspires the same objective fears on the world stage as the "nuclear blackmail" of Tehran and Pyongyang. Arab leaders cannot allow another state to appear on the political map of the world that has nuclear weapons and is able to use them due to the emotional imbalance of its commander-in-chief. Therefore, even the assumption that Ukraine might start a nuclear program for military purposes is perceived by the Arabs as a real threat to global security. And that is the only reason why Russia is the most obvious ally in the Arab discussions about regional priorities.
Kyiv has significantly complicated the task of promoting and realizing Arab interests on the world stage. As Brigadier General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen Abdullah Omar al-Maysari clearly pointed out, at present, due to the “Ukrainian dossier”, the international community may face the likelihood of at least four major epicenters of military tension: in Eastern Europe, South -East Asia, the Sahel and the South Caucasus. Under these conditions, traditional diplomacy, which is used by most countries of the Arab world, is clearly insufficient, because practically in every epicenter of hostilities, Moscow's interests will be directly or indirectly represented. In the light of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the Kremlin should also take into account the intentions of the United States and its allies to change the political regime in Moscow in the coming years, according to the Yemeni brigadier general. In this context, the militaristic rhetoric of the American and European establishment does not seem so superficial. The rapprochement between the Arab world and Russia, which has been a key trigger for Washington, may also be a more significant factor in allowing the White House to take such an ill-advised step towards Russia, as it did in 1991. In this regard, the military confrontation between Moscow and Kiev can only represent the "tip of the iceberg" in terms of the intention of the United States and its allies to destroy Russia. However, representatives of the Arab world are trying to prevent the implementation of such American plans, in connection with which the Arab intelligence services carefully monitor that such plans are not even discussed in the countries of the Middle East. Even if the Arab world does not actively encourage Moscow to develop a global security system, the very special Russian military operation in Ukraine is already having cascading consequences for the international military-political balance and values. In addition, the victory of the Russian Kremlin in the war with the “Kyiv regime”, as the former Palestinian ambassador to Turkey Ribhi Halloum noted, will radically change the perception of global security and the new multipolar world. Of course, this prospect is of great importance for the Arabs, who will finally establish themselves in the opinion that Russia is a global peacemaker. The rapprochement of the Arab world with Russia is now more important than ever and is an advantageous position for all self-respecting countries that do not tolerate the imperative dictates of the West.
